Abortion in the United States and in Montana is a safe, legal way to end a pregnancy.
Blue Mountain Clinic has been providing women with a comfortable, respectful place to exercise their right to abortion for 30 years. With our staff of clinicians and counselors we provide understanding, top-quality abortion care to women who come to us from all over the Northwest.
We offer first trimester surgical abortions for women who are between 5 and 14 weeks from the first day of their last menstrual period (LMP). We also offer medical abortions, or medicine induced abortions, for women who are 8 weeks or less LMP.
Licensed clinicians provide abortion care at Blue Mountain Clinic and your visit here is strictly confidential. Parental or spousal consent is not currently required to obtain an abortion in Montana.
Preparing for an Abortion Appointment
When you schedule an abortion at Blue Mountain Clinic, please plan to be at the clinic for three to five hours on the day of your appointment. We ask that you not consume any alcohol or street drugs 24 hours before your appointment and that you arrive on time, with a driver if you choose.
What to Expect from Your Visit
We will first ask you to fill out some paperwork including a medical history so be prepared to answer some basic questions about your health and that of your family. Then we will test your blood to determine your hemoglobin and RH factor. You will go through options counseling with a trained counselor. In this session we will discuss your situation and decision to terminate a pregnancy. Then a nurse will perform an ultrasound. After the ultrasound a licensed clinician will perform the abortion.

The fees you pay on the day of the abortion include the following services:

- Screening for STIs (sexually transmitted infections) Lab work
- Medications
- Birth control information
- Follow up examination
- 24 hour on-call service
You may pay for your abortion with cash, MC/VISA, Discover, traveler's cheques or money orders. We do not accept personal checks for abortion services and expect full payment at the time of service. Fees are subject to change. Please call the clinic for current prices.
